AMoA Biennial 600: Textile/Fiber entry deadline August 10

The AMoA Biennial 600: Textile/Fiber will be an exhibition of artworks selected by a juror from entries submitted by artists residing within a 600-mile radius of Amarillo, Texas.  The exhibition will be on view October 11—December 22, 2019.

AMoA Biennial 600: Textile/Fiber is the eighth in an ongoing series of juried biennial exhibitions exploring specific areas of artistic practice, material, and content.  Previous exhibition focuses include Drawing (’05), Clay (‘07), Glass (‘09), Figurative Painting (‘11), Printmaking (‘13), Sculpture (’15), and Architecture (’17).  This year, the AMoA staff and Board of Trustees are excited to offer the museum’s exhibition spaces to artists working with textiles/fiber.

JUROR: Alec Unkovic

Alec Unkovic is the Exhibitions Manager at The Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia, PA. With FWM since 2013, in his role he has managed major projects of new work by renowned contemporary artists including Janine Antoni, Suzanne Bocanegra, Sonya Clark, Ann Hamilton, and Ursula von Rydingsvard. He received his BA in Classics from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. Prior to FWM, Unkovic was the Tang Museum’s inaugural Eleanor Linder Winter ’43 Endowed Intern, and was the Dallas Museum of Art’s 2012-2013 McDermott Curatorial Intern for Contemporary Art. His curatorial projects include Twisted Domestic at the Tang Museum, Drawing You In at the Fort Worth Drawing Center, and FWM’s 2021 exhibition by artists-in-residence Mary Reid Kelley and Patrick Kelley.
